1.1               What Is the JDBC API?

 

The JDBC application programming interface provides access to the relational database from Java programming language. This technology provides the industry standard for the independent connection between the Java programming language and a wide variety of databases. You not only executes SQL statements, acquires results, and update data, but can access it anywhere within a network because presents capacity of "Write Once, Run Anywhere".

 

Through JDBC API technology, the user can also access tabular data sources such as spreadsheets or flat files in heterogeneous environments. JDBC application programmming interface is the platform Java Standard Edition (Java SE) and Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE).
